The Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS) delivers essential compensation services to U.S. Foreign Service employees, Department of State Civil Service staff, and Locally Employed (LE) personnel. As a Compensation Technician within the Resource Management Bureau, you will provide critical support to the Locally Employed Payroll office. This role is vital for ensuring world-class compensation services for staff members across 180 distinct local compensation plans. You will navigate a complex landscape of host country labor laws, U.S. regulations, and Department of State policies to maintain the integrity of the payroll cycle.
In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for post payroll and personnel liaisons, resolving pay and personnel issues with promptness and courtesy. Your day-to-day work involves managing master payroll records, auditing Time and Attendance (T&A) files, and performing precise calculations for individual leave accounts, allotments, and severance payments. You will be responsible for monitoring continuous improvements, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) records, and facilitating internal controls to guarantee that all documents and adjustments are processed accurately and on time.

Experience with systems and technical environments supporting the Department of State, help desk support for large complex financial system implementations, knowledge of Federal accounting/financial management policies, practices, operations, and procedures, and experience in supporting the development or implementation of large complex financial management systems.
