As a Community Support Specialist (Internal Title: Community Support Specialist CSTAR), you will join a dynamic care team dedicated to helping individuals navigate their recovery journey from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. This full-time, Monday–Friday position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference by providing holistic, community-based services designed to empower clients to achieve their wellness and recovery goals.
In this role, you will work closely with clients to help them regain stability and build independent, healthy lives. The position is ideal for someone passionate about substance use recovery who enjoys hands-on client engagement and thrives in a team-centered, mission-driven environment. Whether you are new to the human services field or bringing prior experience, you will have the chance to build practical skills while growing through extensive training and support.
Your day-to-day work involves delivering individualized and group support focused on recovery, wellness, and daily living skills. You will adopt a strengths-based, person-centered approach, integrating all dimensions of wellness to assist clients in accessing essential resources such as housing, medical care, education, and recovery supports. A key part of your mission is to help clients develop and maintain personal and community-based support systems while collaborating with care teams, including clinicians, peer specialists, and healthcare providers.
The role requires active engagement outside the office, including conducting outreach, re-engagement efforts, and providing client transportation as clinically indicated. Travel and driving are essential functions of this position, requiring a valid driver's license and adherence to agency-established automobile coverage standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining timely and accurate documentation, completing required reporting, and collecting and processing urine drug screens.
