As a Community Support Specialist (Internal Title: Community Support Specialist CSTAR), you will join a dynamic care team dedicated to supporting individuals on their recovery journey from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. This full-time, Monday–Friday position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference by providing holistic, community-based services designed to empower clients to achieve their wellness and recovery goals.
The role is ideal for someone passionate about substance use recovery who thrives in a team-centered, mission-driven environment. You will work closely with clients to help them regain stability and build independent, healthy lives, whether in their homes, communities, or clinical settings. This position is perfect for those eager to build practical skills in the behavioral health field while engaging in hands-on client support.
Your work will be defined by a strengths-based, person-centered approach that integrates all dimensions of wellness. You will deliver individualized and group support focused on recovery, wellness, and daily living skills. A significant part of your day involves collaborating with care teams—including clinicians, peer specialists, and healthcare providers—to ensure coordinated care.
You will assist clients in accessing essential resources such as housing, medical care, education, and recovery supports, while helping them develop and maintain personal and community-based support systems. The role also includes conducting outreach and re-engagement efforts, collecting and processing urine drug screens, and providing client transportation as clinically indicated. Travel and driving are essential functions of this position, requiring a valid driver's license and adherence to agency-established automobile coverage.
We are seeking individuals who are committed to supporting recovery with empathy, respect, and consistency. Whether you are new to the human services field or bringing prior experience, we value your eagerness to learn and grow through our extensive training and support. You should feel confident working one-on-one with clients and possess strong communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
A successful candidate values collaborative teamwork and care coordination, is comfortable navigating community resources, and is ready to advocate on behalf of clients. You will adapt your approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each person you serve.
