Community Outreach Specialists serve as the vital bridge between the university and the broader community. In this role, you will develop and plan programs that positively represent the university while fostering deep engagement in community-based learning, internships, and research. You will act as the organization's liaison, building strong relationships with community leaders, faculty, and students to ensure successful collaboration.
Your day-to-day involves managing the lifecycle of Community Engaged Learning (CEL) projects. You will coordinate with faculty to integrate community partners into classrooms and events, connect students with meaningful internships and research opportunities, and assess the outcomes of these initiatives. Additionally, you will manage the financial and digital aspects of the program, including securing Bennion Center funds, drafting reports on fund usage, and coordinating with web developers to keep project information current.
This position offers a dynamic environment where you can exercise independent judgment while working under moderate supervision. You will handle assignments of increasing complexity, utilizing a moderate skill set to drive the university's mission of community engagement forward.
