About the Role
The Workforce Communications & Engagement Summer Associate is a paid, fixed-term contract role designed to support the Workforce Communications team with tactical content creation, measurement, and event execution. This position offers hands-on experience specifically tailored to supporting internal communications for the Chattanooga plant workforce.
Ideal for a current college student or recent graduate, this role serves as a bridge between strategic communication goals and the daily reality of the plant environment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners on-site, ensuring that the workforce stays informed, engaged, and connected through clear, compelling internal content.
Day in the Life
Your work will span three core areas: content, data, and events. You will draft and proofread short-form updates for internal channels like the SharePoint intranet, email distribution lists, and digital signage, ensuring all copy adheres to AP Style. Beyond writing, you will manage the logistics of internal plant engagement events, handling everything from checklist creation and signage drafts to day-of coordination and photo capture.
You will also dive into the numbers, pulling simple engagement metrics such as page views and email open rates to build weekly trackers and reports in Excel or PowerPoint. This role requires a detail-oriented mindset to maintain asset management, organize shared folders, and flag data-quality issues like broken links or outdated pages.
