About the Role

The Commissioning Engineer II serves as a critical platform role within QTS Data Centers, bridging the gap between construction, engineering, and operations. This position is dedicated to ensuring the reliability and safety of mission-critical infrastructure by overseeing the full spectrum of commissioning activities (Levels 1 through 5) for base building, security, life safety, and electrical/mechanical systems. As a liaison to third-party commissioning agents, you will act as a project manager, driving the validation of complex systems including transformers, UPS, chillers, and building automation networks.

This role is dynamic and travel-intensive, requiring an estimated 75% travel to various data center sites across the U.S. The position demands flexibility to support construction and commissioning activities, which may include nights and weekends to align with project timelines. You will work closely with the QTS Development Team, external contractors, and facilities operations to ensure seamless system integration without impacting ongoing campus operations.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this role will undergo a standard evaluation process to assess technical expertise and cultural fit. Please note that US Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this position due to federal customer contracts.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

QTS is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We strongly encourage applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability status, or veteran status.

We are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the employment process. If you require an accommodation for any part of the application or interview process, please contact talentacquisition@qtsdatacenters.com with details of your request.

For transparency regarding our hiring practices, QTS adheres to all applicable laws concerning equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
