We are seeking full-time Commercial Building Inspectors to perform field inspections of retail box stores across the United States before, during, and after remodel projects. This position is a dynamic blend of field inspection and project execution, ideal for experienced building inspectors, roofing inspectors, construction professionals, or insurance claim inspectors who are self-starters enjoying travel and hands-on investigation of building systems.
The role involves conducting comprehensive building condition assessments for commercial properties. You will identify exterior coating, sealant, and caulking problems, conduct diagnostic tests on floors, walls, and roofs, and gather data on building components and defects. Your day will include taking field notes and photographs, summarizing results electronically, and interfacing with onsite store managers and restoration contractors to complete quality assurance reports. You will also examine building envelopes for design or construction deficiencies.
This position offers a mix of nationwide travel and home office work. Travel is structured, typically involving two-week rotations, though occasional trips may extend to four weeks. The work is planned in advance to ensure a balanced workflow between the field and the office.
