About the Role
The Command Privacy Act/FOIA Coordinator serves as a critical support asset for the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and its subordinate commands. Based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, this role operates within the Manpower Directorate (G-1) to ensure seamless personnel operations and administrative support across both continental and overseas theaters. The position is essential for maintaining the integrity of information management, handling Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in alignment with Department of Defense directives.
This role exists to bridge the gap between complex regulatory requirements and operational efficiency. You will act as the primary liaison for FOIA services, managing the lifecycle of requests from receipt to resolution. The day-to-day involves coordinating with internal staff, law enforcement, and external agencies to process redactions, prepare documents for release, and ensure full compliance with DON FOIA policy. Beyond the desk, the role requires a readiness to deploy, supporting forward-deployed forces and personnel recovery efforts throughout the Central Command Area of Responsibility (AOR).
