About the Role
The Mechanical Designer Engineer Co-Op serves as a vital support member within the parcel industry engineering team. Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering and working under the day-to-day guidance of a Principal Engineer, this role focuses on creating mechanical engineering drawings and designs tailored to parcel handling projects. The position bridges the gap between concept and execution, ensuring that all designs are functional, efficient, and safe through close collaboration with other engineering staff and project teams.
Day in the Life
You will spend the majority of your time in an office environment, producing high-quality mechanical installation drawings and preparing AutoCAD drawing sets for permits, installation, and as-built conditions. A key part of your success involves collaborating with project teams to maintain consistent design practices across various initiatives. While the role is primarily office-based, you may occasionally visit field sites to gather data or verify installation details. The schedule generally follows standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM), though hours may shift to accommodate specific project requirements.
