About the Role
We are seeking an Experienced Technical Lead to specialize in the design and development of parcel sortation and material handling systems. This role is critical for driving our project success from concept through execution, whether we are starting with a blank slate or refining existing layouts.
You will serve as the primary technical point of contact, leading customer bids and projects with a commitment to meeting strict site-specific requirements and customer specifications. Your work ensures that proposed system designs align with safety regulations and internal engineering standards while effectively bridging the gap between technical design, estimating, and project coordination.
Day in the Life
In this position, you will design automated parcel sortation and material handling system layouts, creating detailed engineering designs, system calculations, and layout drawings. A significant portion of your time will be spent developing comprehensive drawing sets in AutoCAD and 3D models using Inventor to support proposals and project planning.
You will engage directly with customers to confirm that all site-specific and project requirements are accurately captured. Your technical expertise will be applied to analyze 3D models against point cloud scans to validate accuracy, produce detailed clash detection reports, and generate manifests outlining necessary demolition, modifications, and new equipment. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will provide expert technical guidance during system installation and commissioning phases, ensuring all technical requirements are captured for accurate estimating and bid development.
