About the Role
SMX is actively seeking a dynamic Cloud Engineer to support a government client in Huntsville, AL. This role emphasizes operational excellence, championed by a commitment to quality, articulate communication, client success, and measurable results. You will act as a trusted advisor and Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical decisions during client engagements, developing courses of action using innovative cloud best practices.
In this position, you will support and facilitate the customer's cloud strategy to utilize DoD-approved cloud service providers. Your work will span Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Data as a Service (DaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) within the agency's supported cloud architecture. You will define and engineer solution capabilities that satisfy customer business drivers, performing architecture, design, and requirements analysis using systems engineering. The role focuses on cloud-native services and optimizing the customer landscape through adoption of these services, while taking ownership of issues with a high sense of urgency to provide advanced technical support and complex problem resolution.
