The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is a national leader in pediatric medicine. The Department comprises the medical and research staff of the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital, one of the nation's top-ranked pediatric care and research institutions and Iowa's only comprehensive children's hospital.
The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, specifically the Hematology/Oncology division, is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Assistant/Data Manager to serve as a vital member of the Pediatric Oncology Research Team. This role is dedicated to coordinating pediatric clinical study activities within the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) and Stead Family Children's Hospital at The University of Iowa.
In this position, you will assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of healthcare provided to research protocol patients. You will work closely with Clinical Research Coordinators to manage data collection, maintain medical documentation, and oversee electronic data systems for ongoing clinical research protocols and laboratory investigations. The role requires close collaboration with multiple departments, including the University Clinical Trials Office, to ensure the seamless execution of study activities.

This position is a Specified Term appointment and is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed within the state of Iowa and requires the completion of a work arrangement form upon employment start. Work arrangements are reviewed annually to ensure compliance with university policies. Please note that this position is ineligible for University Sponsorship.

Relevant experience in the conduct of clinical or laboratory research studies. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and procedures. Clinical Research Coordinator Certification (SOCRA or ACRP). Certification that allows for blood draw (Phlebotomy Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, LPN). Experience conducting electrocardiograms (ECG). Experience working with Epic. Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations.
