Lumicell is a privately held medical equipment manufacturer based in Waltham, Massachusetts, specializing in innovative fluorescence-guided technologies for cancer surgery. The organization develops solutions designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs within the surgical setting. Its primary offering is the Lumicell Direct Visualization System, which provides real-time illumination of cancerous tissue inside the breast cavity during the initial lumpectomy procedure. This technology aims to assist surgeons in identifying all affected areas, potentially lowering the rate of repeat surgeries. Beyond breast cancer applications, the company is exploring its proprietary pan-oncologic optical imaging agent across various solid tumor indications. The firm's mission focuses on enhancing the standard of care by guiding the complete resection of cancer that might otherwise remain untreated. Through these optical imaging advancements, Lumicell seeks to support surgical precision and better clinical results for patients undergoing oncologic procedures.
