The Clinical Research Assistant serves as a vital support member within the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism department at The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. This role is designed to facilitate the smooth execution of clinical studies by assisting research staff with essential study-related duties. The primary mission of this position is to promote the recruitment and retention of study participants, ensuring the integrity and progress of ongoing research initiatives.
In this capacity, you will manage the participant journey from initial screening to study completion. Your day-to-day activities include conducting phone screenings, scheduling visits, and performing follow-up contacts. You will also lead study visits, where you will be responsible for obtaining informed consent, creating necessary referrals, and maintaining participant engagement. To succeed in this environment, you will complete required training, such as CITI and Computer Based Learning, to gain access to critical platforms like the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Integrated Healthcare Information System (IHIS), and RedCap.
