This position serves as a vital link in our inpatient pharmacy, ensuring the consistent application of knowledge to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. You will be responsible for the holistic care of patients while developing effective, professional relationships within our multidisciplinary team. Your day-to-day involves reviewing medication orders for interactions and appropriateness, overseeing the preparation and delivery of medications, and providing counseling to ensure patients are well-informed and treated with respect.
You will work across decentralized inpatient units, including Pediatrics, NICU, ICU, OR, and the ED. This role requires taking the initiative to solve complex problems, from equipment maintenance to staffing issues, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve patient satisfaction. As a leader in your unit, you will supervise interns, technicians, and support personnel, providing clinical consultation to other health professionals and supporting local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives.
You will be based at the Inpatient Pharmacy at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, including rotations for weekends and holidays. Shifts are variable throughout the workday to meet the needs of our decentralized units.
