The Cleaner position is essential to maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the shipyard, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment for all personnel. You will be responsible for cleaning tanks, confined spaces, and bilges, pressure washing components, and responding to landside spills. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining safety and hygiene standards while adapting to changing tasks and priorities.
The day-to-day involves extensive physical activity, including walking, maneuvering steps, climbing ladders, and working in small, tight, confined spaces. You will work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions and may be required to work at extreme heights or perform overhead work. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, as is the ability to wear a respirator, which requires being clean-shaven. This position supports production needs by working any shift required.
