About the Team

TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. Our core mission is to move new vehicles safely and efficiently from our High Point, NC hub to delivery locations across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

This is an Independent Contractor position for Group Driveaway Drivers. You will drive new Thomas Built School Buses in coordinated groups of 3–5 drivers, with one driver per vehicle. The role is strictly Over-The-Road (OTR), requiring you to travel from High Point, NC, to various delivery points and return as a group.

You will work autonomously yet collaboratively, checking in with a Lead Driver before each trip departs. The position requires staying on the road for multiple days depending on drop-off locations. Drivers are responsible for the condition of the vehicle during transport and must ensure all paperwork is completed accurately for payout.

Hiring & Application Process

1. Submit Application: Provide your CDL, MVR, PSP, CSA, and Clearinghouse reports. Note that Uber, Lyft, and ride-share experience do not count toward the driving requirement.
2. Background Check: Applicants with a completed SAP program must be at least 7 years clear of completion. Any accidents in the last 3 years must be supported by an accident report.
3. Onboarding: Selected candidates must attend an in-person onboarding session in High Point, NC.
4. Road Test: A local road test is required for those with spotless reports; otherwise, a clean driving history is verified.

Culture & Requirements

To remain active, drivers must complete at least one trip per month. We value professionalism and courtesy at all times. Drivers must be comfortable working in a team setting, sharing workload and responsibilities with fellow group members.

Required Gear: Drivers must bring a cell phone, a walkie-talkie (available for purchase at the office), screwdrivers (flathead & Philips), an adjustable crescent wrench, a 1/2-inch wrench, and blue painters tape.
