About the Team

TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. Our core mission relies on a collaborative group model where drivers travel in convoys of 3–5 vehicles, one per bus, to deliver new school buses from our hub in High Point, NC, to destinations across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

This is an Independent Contractor position focused on transporting new school buses over-the-road. You will not be a company driver or owner/operator; instead, you will join a team to ensure vehicles arrive safely and on schedule. The role requires staying on the road for multiple days depending on the delivery location, followed by a group return trip to High Point.

As a Group Driver, you will work closely with a Lead Driver, checking in before each trip departs. You are responsible for the condition of the vehicle during transport and must maintain professional conduct at all times. While the work is independent, the group dynamic requires sharing responsibilities and ensuring the convoy moves efficiently. Drivers choose when they want to drive, as we are a non-forced dispatch company.

Hiring Process & Application

To join the team, you must attend an in-person onboarding session in High Point, NC. Applicants with a completed SAP program must be at least 7 years clear of completion to be considered. Any accidents in the last three years must be supported by an accident report before the application can be processed. Once hired, you must complete at least one trip per month to remain active.

Our drivers are expected to keep accurate daily DOT logs using the MOTIVE app (paper logs are not accepted) and adhere strictly to DOT Hours of Service rules. We foster a team environment where drivers support one another during long hauls, ensuring that pick-ups and drop-offs are met on time and that all paperwork is submitted accurately for payout.
