System Transport has been hauling what builds America since 1972. We combine the resources of a large company with the personal feel of a small business, keeping the country running with drivers behind the wheel. Our mission is to transport important goods and materials—including glass, steel, aluminum, building materials, machinery, coils, and specialty metals—while maintaining a culture of "America Proud, Flatbed Strong."
We are seeking experienced CDL-A flatbed truck drivers for regional routes out of our Kansas City, MO terminal (Division 290). As a driver, you will operate modern, meticulously maintained flatbed trucks equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies, including lane departure warnings, forward collision systems, and satellite communication devices. Our fleet is serviced 24/7/365 to ensure that no truck leaves the shop until it is 100% ready for the road.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a supportive team that prioritizes your safety and comfort. Drivers utilize our award-winning driver portal app for real-time updates, pay access, and trip data. While the role requires physical capability to handle tarping (lifting a 90-pound tarp onto a 5-foot high platform twice), the majority of our loads are tarp-covered, and we provide the necessary support to ensure you can perform these tasks safely.
We are currently accepting applications from experienced drivers as well as recent CDL-A graduates through May 31, 2026. For new graduates, we offer a special transition package that includes $1,000 allocated for orientation during your first two weeks, allowing you to focus on driving while we handle the rest.
To apply, please call 1-866-725-5083 to speak with a recruiter about route options and the hiring process. Candidates must meet standard requirements, including a valid Class A CDL, a clean drug test, and a background check. Note that for flatbed positions, drivers must pass a physical test for tarping during orientation.
Your safety is paramount to us. We are committed to fair pay and equal opportunity for all employees. System Transport is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants regardless of background. We also maintain a strict pet policy but allow riders aged 7 and up after 90 days of safe driving, fostering a supportive environment for our drivers' families.
