About the Role
The Class A CDL Driver serves as the vital link between National Tank & Equipment's branch and its clients, operating a DOT-regulated truck to transport rental equipment and tools. This position is dedicated to ensuring that all pick-ups and deliveries are conducted in an efficient, legal, safe, accurate, and timely manner. Beyond transportation, the driver acts as a key ambassador for the company, managing vehicle maintenance and fostering professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
Day in the Life
As a driver, you will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of equipment using forklifts, securing all loads to protect public safety and company property, and delivering goods between branch and client locations. You will serve as a liaison between customers and internal departments, ensuring expectations are not just met but exceeded. A significant portion of your day involves maintaining accurate documentation, including service tickets, time sheets, and mandatory DOT inspections and logs. You will also take ownership of the vehicle's condition, performing routine maintenance checks and communicating any deficiencies to branch management.
