The Claims Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Vice President of Risk and Litigation, playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's future. In this position, you will collaborate closely with legal and risk teams to coordinate and manage investigations of potential claims, evaluating liability exposure across professional, general, and employment liability occurrences.
Your day-to-day impact involves mitigating the organization's risk exposure by formulating and coordinating claim-related activities. You will work within UnityPoint's program for efficient claims handling, gathering critical data for loss forecasting and estimating the financial value of claims. This role requires you to coordinate discovery and evaluation activities for litigated claims while maintaining the development, updates, and accuracy of various claims management reports. You will also oversee the submission and monitoring of claims to carriers, ensuring seamless communication with excess carriers and internal finance teams regarding loss runs and pool allocations.
This role offers flexibility with remote, hybrid, and onsite opportunities available. While applicants preferably reside in Des Moines, Iowa, to work onsite or hybrid at our West Lakes location, remote candidates must reside within the UnityPoint Health footprint of Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
