The VP of Insurance & Risk is a strategic leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role serves as the architect of the organization's insurance strategy, tasked with protecting the company's assets, employees, and profitability through sophisticated risk financing and insurance programs.
You will oversee a complex portfolio with a heavy focus on Property & Casualty, Workers' Compensation, and specialized Property Management liabilities. A critical component of this position is ensuring that our coverage scales at the same velocity as our portfolio acquisitions, seamlessly integrating new properties into our Master Insurance Program.
As a key member of the executive crisis response team, you will provide the "Risk Lens" during natural disasters, significant property losses, or litigation. Beyond traditional risk management, you will drive enterprise-wide initiatives to identify emerging risks—such as climate change, regulatory shifts, and cyber threats—and develop robust mitigation strategies. This role requires a blend of high-level negotiation skills to navigate London and domestic markets, deep financial acumen to analyze actuarial reports and loss triangles, and the ability to leverage data analytics for predictive forecasting.
While the primary work environment is an office setting, this role involves frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and landscape may be unpleasant or hazardous. The position requires routine local travel for training and client visits, as well as overnight travel for property visits and special projects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
