The Chief of Staff serves as the operational and clinical anchor of the hospital, balancing the dual mandate of delivering world-class veterinary care and driving business performance. This role is designed to advocate for pets and their quality of life while fostering long-term bonds between clients and their animals. By partnering closely with the Practice Manager, the Chief of Staff ensures a safe, engaging environment where the veterinary medical team can thrive, maximizing both medical quality and productivity.
The position embodies a dynamic day-to-day rhythm, typically split between 70-80% hands-on veterinary practice and 20-30% leadership duties. As a practicing veterinarian, you will lead the daily schedule, perform diagnostics and surgeries, and manage complex medical cases. Simultaneously, you will act as a mentor and coach for Associate Veterinarians, shaping their professional development and ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of the Banfield brand. You will be the face of the hospital, resolving client concerns, educating the community on preventive care, and championing the organization's core values.
