About the Role
As a Cashier, you will be the face of our store, efficiently checking customers out at the register while ensuring outstanding service. This role goes beyond scanning items; it involves using critical thinking to resolve issues and assisting customers with various needs, from proper bagging to carry-out and parcel pick-up services. You will work directly under the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, Grocery Manager, Guest Relations Manager, or Store Office Manager, and may direct Carry-Outs depending on store needs.
Daily Operations
Your day will focus on maintaining exceptional customer service by adhering to "Meet and Greet" policies. You will strive to achieve high standards for items per minute (IPMs) while keeping cash over/short levels low. Beyond the register, you will ensure customer orders are bagged properly and assist with carry-out services. The role also includes maintaining the cleanliness of check stands, magazine racks, and candy racks.
Physical Requirements
This position involves medium work that requires good corrected vision and hearing. You must be able to stand and move about to various workstations, as well as stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull. The role requires the ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. on occasion, exert 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 10-20 lbs. of force constantly. Additionally, you must have dexterous use of both hands and the ability to safely use knives and other sharp instruments for food preparation or product removal. You should be prepared to work on floors that may occasionally become slippery.
