This position serves as a vital operational partner to the Facility Manager, facility staff, and physicians, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality patient care in a vascular access or ambulatory surgical setting. The role exists to bridge clinical excellence with administrative efficiency, maintaining a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment.
In this capacity, you will coordinate daily facility operations, from patient admission through discharge, while providing direct nursing support. You will act as a primary resource for staff, physicians, and patients, managing everything from complex scheduling and equipment maintenance to critical quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance. The role demands a proactive approach to risk management, requiring you to address adverse events, lead emergency responses, and ensure the integrity of medical records and patient safety protocols.
Your day will be a dynamic mix of clinical oversight and strategic management. You will likely begin by reviewing facility status, ensuring all equipment and technology are operational, and verifying that the environment meets strict safety and sanitation standards. Throughout the day, you will coordinate patient workflows, conferring with patients to obtain histories, perform assessments, and educate families on post-procedure care.
You will serve as a key liaison between the medical team and administration, attending governing body and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) meetings to report on facility performance and drive process improvements. When the Facility Manager is unavailable, you will step in to lead the team, managing staffing, resolving patient concerns, and ensuring all policies are followed. You will also oversee medication inventory, manage controlled substances, and conduct regular audits to maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive interview process designed to assess both clinical expertise and leadership capabilities. This typically includes a review of professional credentials, followed by interviews with the Facility Manager and senior leadership to discuss operational strategies and team fit. Finalists may also participate in scenario-based discussions regarding emergency protocols and quality improvement challenges.
