This position serves as a vital link within the Behavioral and Mental Health department, dedicated to coordinating and providing essential services to individuals and families. The core mission is to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and resiliency by identifying personal strengths and addressing barriers that may impede independent functioning in the community.
The role involves supporting individuals and families through crisis situations and providing personalized interventions to enhance their ability to make informed, independent decisions. Patient care assignments are diverse, potentially including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. The role specifically focuses on those at risk of or experiencing serious emotional, neurobiological, and behavioral disorders, severe mental illness (SMI), chronic substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will act as a mentor to instill hope, teach symptom monitoring and management, and facilitate the development of life skills such as daily living activities, socialization, and community functioning. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to eliminate barriers to culturally competent care and assist clients in accessing community resources, financial assistance, and stable housing.
