About the Role
Port View Preparatory is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our educational support team. Under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help design and deliver engaging therapeutic programs that empower students with diverse needs to thrive in their educational environments.
As a valued member of the team, you will partner with the supervising OT to plan and implement meaningful, student-centered intervention programs. Your day will involve supporting students' IEP goals by providing accommodations and strategies aligned with OT recommendations, as well as training teachers and staff to ensure the carryover of therapeutic techniques in the classroom. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and specialists to promote student success, participate in team meetings to help shape supportive learning environments, and assist with instructional support and pre-referral activities. Additionally, you will create and adapt materials to enhance student participation and independence, contribute to progress reporting and documentation, and deliver individual, group, and consultative interventions across school settings.
