A career at Waste Management (WM) offers more than just a paycheck; it is an opportunity to create a stable future for you and your family. Our team members perform essential and meaningful work, ensuring our communities remain clean and sustainable every day. We are committed to your growth, offering benefits like annual education assistance, and we invest in our people through comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and discounted stock options.
As a Driver at Waste Management, you will operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments, depending on the specific line of business and vehicle type. Your mission is to transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once trucks reach legal load capacity. Whether you are a Commercial, Residential, or Roll-off Driver, you will navigate high-traffic roadways, congested driveways, alleyways, and lots, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers to ensure safety and efficiency.
Commercial Drivers provide pick-up services for containers filled with waste or recyclable material, which may weigh over 1,000 pounds and require maneuvering wheeled containers to a pick-up stage. Residential Drivers focus on the safe collection of household waste or recyclables within residential environments. Roll-off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations, often operating in tight overhead environments on industrial routes. In all roles, you will work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies, identify best practices, and ensure customer locations are left clean and free of debris.
