About the Role

As a Commercial Driver at Waste Management, you will operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments, depending on the specific line of business and vehicle type. Your mission is to transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once trucks reach legal load capacity. This role is critical to our operations, requiring you to navigate high-traffic roadways, congested driveways, alleyways, and lots with precision.

The role varies by route type, each demanding high levels of skill and situational awareness:

• Commercial Drivers: You will provide pick-up services for containers filled with waste or recyclable material. These containers can weigh over 1,000 pounds and may require you to maneuver wheeled containers to a pick-up stage area.
• Residential Drivers: You will collect household waste or recyclable materials, safely maneuvering vehicles through residential environments while navigating tight spaces and traffic.
• Roll-off Drivers: You will prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. This role often involves operating in tight overhead environments on industrial routes.

Across all positions, highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform the job. You will work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies, identify best practices, and ensure customer satisfaction by leaving locations clean and free of debris.
