The Residential Driver is the frontline of our waste removal services, dedicated to safely, efficiently, and courteously serving our community. In this role, you will collect solid waste and recyclables from curbside and backdoor locations, transporting them to post-collection facilities. You are the face of the company, interacting with customers daily while ensuring route quality standards are met.
This position requires a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. You will operate residential collection trucks (side-load and/or rear-load), managing ancillary equipment and hydraulic systems to compact trash. The role involves identifying prohibited items, managing assigned helpers if applicable, and working closely with supervisors to improve routing efficiencies. Whether navigating tight spaces, maneuvering in high-traffic areas, or adapting to changing weather conditions, your focus remains on safe and reliable service.
You will work outdoors 100% of the time, often away from the branch location on a continuous basis throughout the day. The environment can be physically demanding, exposing you to loud noise, extreme temperatures, humidity, and various weather conditions. You will frequently operate in motor vehicle traffic and may occasionally work in high or precarious places. The role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 100 pounds and maintain physical stamina while sitting for up to 75% of the time during driving operations.
