CDL Driver - Front End

About the Role

Front-End Drivers are the backbone of our waste and recycling operations, operating front-end trucks to service a diverse portfolio of multi-family residential and commercial routes. In this position, you will fulfill customer contracts by collecting solid waste and recyclables, ensuring timely transfer to appropriate stations, landfills, or drop-off locations. The role requires navigating multiple customers daily along assigned routes, maintaining a high standard of service and safety in varied environments.

Day in the Life

Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of the vehicle, followed by a route driven via key maps and GPS to service multiple addresses. You will interact courteously with customers and the public, answering questions and addressing requests while ensuring the cleanliness of customer sites by managing spills and loose debris. The role involves significant physical activity, including maneuvering the truck into tight clearance spaces, operating equipment to dump containers, and climbing to the top of the truck to verify load security before transport. Throughout the shift, you will monitor operations for safety hazards, maintain detailed logbooks, and adhere to strict safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
