About the Role
The Residential Driver is the face of GFL on the road, responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services. This role is more than just driving; it is an opportunity to make a difference each day by collecting solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transporting them to post-collection facilities. You will interact directly with customers and the general public, answering questions and responding to requests while ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the areas you serve.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate mechanical packer to load and compact trash into the truck body
- check_circleAssist helpers in loading solid waste into the truck hopper as route conditions require
- check_circlePerform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit condition reports
- check_circleManeuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors and GPS
- check_circleFollow all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and company safety policies
- check_circleDrive rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load trucks along designated routes
- check_circleInteract courteously with customers to answer questions and report issues to supervisors
- check_circleCollect solid waste or recyclables from curbside and backdoor locations
- check_circleClean loose trash from the truck and surrounding areas to maintain site safety
Requirements
- verifiedValid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- verifiedAt least 21 years of age
