CDL B Driver

About the Role

As a Part-Time Driver, you are the face of PODS at the customer's doorstep. Your primary mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and incident-free delivery and pickup of storage containers. This role goes beyond simply operating a vehicle; it requires maintaining excellent rapport with customers while handling their belongings with care. You will be responsible for coordinating rental paperwork, verifying deliveries, and ensuring that every container is presentable and ready for the next stage of its journey.

Day in the Life

Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of the commercial truck and its patented lift mechanism, ensuring everything is road-ready. You will drive the vehicle to customer locations, where you will skillfully operate the lift, forklift, or overhead crane to load and unload containers. Throughout the route, you will use handheld computers for navigation and delivery verification, while also performing necessary field repairs on containers and equipment. Between deliveries, you will coordinate with customers regarding their rentals and communicate any issues to your Driver Lead or Market Manager. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness of the truck cab and providing backup support for storage center functions when needed.
