About the Team
TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. Our core mission relies on a unique group driving model where drivers travel in convoys of 3–5 vehicles, with one driver per bus, to deliver new school buses from our hub in High Point, NC, to delivery locations across the U.S. and Canada.
About the Role
This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position focused on transporting new school buses. You will join a convoy of fellow drivers, coordinating with a Lead Driver before each trip departs. The role requires professional conduct and teamwork, as you will share the road and responsibilities with your group. While the position is OTR (Over-The-Road) and not local or regional, we are a non-forced dispatch company, meaning you choose when you want to drive with us. To remain active, drivers must complete at least one trip per month.
The Experience
Your day-to-day involves picking up vehicles in High Point, NC, and delivering them to varying customer locations. Upon delivery, transportation is arranged to return you to High Point. You will travel back to the pick-up location as a group after completing a delivery. The role may require staying on the road for multiple days depending on drop-off locations. Drivers are expected to maintain accurate daily DOT logs using the MOTIVE app (paper logs are not accepted) and ensure all paperwork is submitted accurately and on time to qualify for same-day pay.
Hiring Process
This is an independent contractor role, not a company driver or owner/operator position. All candidates must attend an in-person onboarding session in High Point, NC. Applicants must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL and have verifiable OTR CMV or School Bus driving experience within the last three years. Drivers must also pass a local road test and maintain relatively clean driving reports and employment history.
