US Foods is one of the largest food distributors in the industry, known for a culture and history of promoting from within. We offer excellent training programs and maintain a continuous improvement focus. Our mission is to help our customers "Make It" with products and services that shape the communities where we live and work. We believe in helping our drivers make it too, offering opportunities for skilled, forward-thinking associates to build a career with us.
Great drivers are crucial to the US Foods team and serve as one of the important faces of our organization. On and off the road, our drivers strive for integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with customers. This role is designed for those who want to be part of a collaborative spirit and strong service culture.
As a Delivery Driver, you will be the face of our organization, professionally performing customer service responsibilities to enhance the client experience. You will safely drive trucks to customers, ensuring scheduled delivery times are met. Your day involves carefully unloading products using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand, and placing them in designated customer storage areas. You will verify delivery accuracy with customers, obtain proper signatures, and handle collections when applicable. Additionally, you will perform all necessary pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to maintain our strong safety culture.
To join our team, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid CDL Class A issued by their state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. You must have a minimum of six months of commercial driving experience in any industry, or three months specifically in the food and/or beverage delivery industry. The ability to read and communicate in English is required to understand traffic signals, respond to inquiries, and maintain records.
A critical step in the application process is registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure online database mandated by the Department of Transportation that provides real-time information regarding drug and alcohol program violations for CDL holders. All drivers must register at clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov. While operating a manual transmission is preferred, it may be required in specific locations.
US Foods is committed to Total Rewards that respect and reward our associates for their dedication and hard work. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
