The Driver, Trainee Component position is designed to help you take your CDL-A career further. In this role, you will learn the essential functions of a Driver, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. As a Trainee, you will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of your developmental process to become a full McLane Driver.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer, observing skills in starting the engine, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. Your day will involve maneuvering tractors, inspecting equipment for defects, operating delivery handheld devices, and assisting in unloading and delivering products. You will also provide customer service by ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged products, handling returns, and issuing valid customer credits.
