The Driver, Trainee Component position is designed to help you take your CDL-A career further. In this role, you will learn the essential functions of a Driver, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. This position offers exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer to gain knowledge of commercial driving regulations and observe skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. As a team member, you will be responsible for maneuvering tractors, inspecting equipment for defects, operating delivery handheld devices, and maintaining driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations. You will also assist in unloading trailers and providing customer service, ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged products.
