About the Role
As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver job, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. This position is designed to give you exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a full McLane Driver.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. Your day will involve maneuvering tractors, inspecting equipment for defects, operating handheld devices to document deliveries, and assisting in unloading and delivering products. You will also provide customer service by ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged products and handling returns.
