About the Role
Reporting to the Category Manager, the Category Analyst serves as a strategic partner to the Category Management team. This position is designed to drive category strategy, operational improvements, and cost-saving initiatives by leveraging deep spend analysis, supplier evaluation, and market research. The role exists to transform raw data into actionable insights that guide procurement activities and enhance enterprise-wide efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical background in engineering, finance, economics, or data analysis. You will be comfortable navigating large datasets to identify trends, cost drivers, and sourcing opportunities, acting as a bridge between complex data and strategic business decisions.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role requiring a presence in the office four days per week, fostering close collaboration with the procurement team and business stakeholders.

- check_circleDevelop sourcing evaluation models, negotiation models, and supplier scorecards
- check_circleBuild total cost of ownership models and identify savings opportunities
- check_circleMonitor supplier performance metrics, KPIs, and service levels
- check_circleResearch new suppliers, substitute products/services, and emerging market participants
- check_circleSupport sourcing strategies and category initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders
- check_circleDevelop and maintain supplier and category databases
- check_circleSupport procurement process improvements and future-state process documentation
Requirements
- verified3-5 years experience in Category Management, Spend Analysis, Procurement Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, or Data Analysis
- verifiedBachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business, or related technical discipline
Nice to Have
Experience within the rail industry or similar large-scale supply chain environments. Experience supporting strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations. Project Management or Supply Chain certifications. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related technical discipline.
