Cashiers serve as the frontline of our customer service, delivering fast, friendly, accurate, and safe experiences. This role is essential for processing checkout and return transactions while maintaining the efficiency of the Self-Checkout area. Beyond transaction processing, Cashiers actively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify opportunities to enhance their shopping journey. Adherence to all policies and procedures is critical to minimizing shrink and ensuring store integrity.
The Head Cashier acts as a key support leader for the Front End team. This role involves strategically positioning Cashiers and expediting operations such as price checks, Point of Sale approvals, and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, the Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. As the first point of escalation for customer issues, the Head Cashier ensures problems are resolved promptly. Additionally, this position plays a vital role in team development by supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates, including the onboarding and skill-building of new Cashiers.
