Cash Application Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to support payment processing and accounts receivable activities in Tacoma, Washington. This long-term contract position is designed for an individual who can accurately apply customer payments, maintain financial records, and ensure receivables remain current. You will work closely with accounting and finance teams to ensure cash transactions are recorded promptly and that any discrepancies are resolved efficiently.

In this role, you will be the bridge between incoming payments and our financial records. Your day will involve applying customer payments to the appropriate accounts with high precision, posting cash receipts into accounting systems, and reviewing remittance details to match payments against open invoices. You will investigate payment variances, short pays, and unapplied cash by coordinating with internal teams and customers, while also reconciling daily cash activity to align posted amounts with bank records.
