The Ag CAS Accounting Manager role is designed for an ambitious, detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for client service and an entrepreneurial spirit. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with A-level client contacts across varying industries and sizes. You will lead and manage multiple engagements simultaneously, developing work plans, executing quality control processes, and supervising staff. Beyond daily operations, you will have the chance to help firm leadership develop and implement best practices, leverage departmental growth, and expand your professional knowledge across multiple lines of service.
Adams Brown promotes a flexible work environment with a deep commitment to technology and modern work arrangements. While a 40-hour work week is typically expected, there are occasions for extended hours and weekends, particularly during tax season. Our offices operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during tax season, closing at noon on Fridays outside of tax season. We are closed on major holidays and offer a culture of growth, clarity, and respect.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDevelop work plans, project timelines, and key milestones for client engagements
- check_circlePerform and review core finance functions including account reconciliations and month-end close
- check_circleAssist with ad-hoc tax, consulting, and forensic accounting engagements
- check_circleIdentify client issues and deficiencies while recommending effective solutions
- check_circleLead process improvement initiatives and submit proposals to team leadership
- check_circleManage regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to internal reporting deadlines
- check_circleOversee day-to-day management of client engagements and new client setups
- check_circlePrepare financial statements and key management reports for client reporting
- check_circleCreate and execute quality control processes for the Ag CAS department
- check_circleSupervise and manage accounting staff, external or internal team members
Requirements
- verified4-7 years of demonstrated experience
- verifiedPrior tax experience required
- verifiedBachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- verifiedActive CPA license preferred
Nice to Have
Prior knowledge of basic agricultural operations and terminology. Active CPA license. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. Prior success managing projects and people. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
