As a Direct Support Professional, you will be the backbone of our community-based programs, providing essential support within residential settings or periodic programs. Your day will involve building meaningful connections with the individuals you serve, typically supporting 4 to 6 people in a home environment. You will assist with daily activities ranging from personal care and housekeeping to socialization, medication administration, and community integration. Whether you are preparing meals according to individual dietary needs, accompanying someone to a medical appointment, or helping them navigate the community, your role is to foster growth, independence, and dignity. This position is ideal for someone who values human connection and wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Candidates must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license for at least one year. All employees are required to cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff during any inspection, inquiry, or investigation. Prior to employment, all candidates must successfully complete criminal background checks, including checks against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI). Additionally, all employees hired after June 15, 2018, must submit to drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to random or for-cause testing. You must also demonstrate proficiency in all required trainings and meet age requirements (18+). If driving is part of your role, you must maintain a valid driver's license, car registration, and insurance, and pass the company's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements.
