Your work involves assessing basic and advanced cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology to create preliminary reports for cardiologist interpretation. This role is critical to the Cardiology Clinic's mission of delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging.
You will operate a variety of equipment to perform routine two-dimensional, stress, pharmacological stress, transesophageal, and emergent echo procedures. The position requires the ability to learn and utilize advanced techniques, including 3D and strain imaging, as well as the use of ultrasound enhancing agents and agitated saline when clinically necessary. You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment in working order, performing routine cleaning and preventive maintenance, and reporting any malfunctions to the biomed team or lab supervisor.
Your day will involve evaluating patient electronic medical records to gather history and exam reasons, preparing preliminary reports with comparisons to previous studies, and ensuring all documentation is properly archived. You will participate in professional education, lab meetings, and quality improvement projects, while also supporting the reaccreditation process for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission of Echocardiography (IAC-Echo).
This role requires flexibility to provide echocardiography services at all necessary locations. You will work variable shifts, including weekends, and provide emergent call coverage as scheduled. You will be joining the Cardiology Clinic, where adherence to DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and registry standards is essential.
