About the Role
Under the general direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Group Director is responsible for executing planned daily activities that align with the mission of Explorers Camp. This role assists in all camp and special events while maintaining primary responsibility for the safety and well-being of all campers under supervision. The position requires fostering a safe, secure, and welcoming environment while promoting the health, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child.

YMCA of Montclair is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: BA in Education, Child Development, Physical Education, Recreation or related field and two years direct experience with children under age 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity; School Age Childcare credential and three years direct experience with children under age 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity; Two years of college with 18 credits in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or related field and three years direct experience with children under age 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity; and CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or get certified within 90 days of employment.
