As a Cake Decorator at Sam's Club, you will drive member service by delivering the bakery products our members love, ensuring they receive high-quality, beautifully decorated items for less. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the total club meets member expectations, acting as a vital link between our production capabilities and the customer experience.
In this role, you will be an expert in bakery production, planning outputs to ensure consistency in quality and accuracy. Your day-to-day involves creating decorative designs using various tools, such as bags, tips, and nozzles, to craft flowers and lettering on bakery items. You will maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and cold chain compliance while operating and sanitizing equipment.
You will also leverage digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience, using handheld technology to make immediate business decisions regarding production, merchandise ordering, and product quality. As a team owner, you will drive the performance of the bakery area, managing quality and date control standards to eliminate waste and preparing for seasonal events like holidays and family gatherings.
Beyond technical skills, you will serve as a talent ambassador and brand advocate. You will model high-quality service, interact with associates to understand roadblocks, and assist in training and developing the team. Your approach will be respectful, supportive, and team-oriented, fostering a culture where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
At Sam's Club, we are committed to a culture of belonging where we embrace differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences. We strive to create a workplace where associates can thrive and perform, attracting the best talent by valuing unique styles, experiences, identities, abilities, ideas, and opinions.
We act with integrity, maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance while modeling Walmart values to support our goal of becoming a regenerative company. We believe in putting the customer first, making decisions based on reliable information, and balancing short and long-term priorities. We encourage curiosity, a desire to learn, and the courage to take calculated risks while driving continuous improvements.
We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package designed for a happier mind, body, and wallet. This includes health benefits (medical, vision, dental), financial benefits (401(k), stock purchase, company-paid life insurance), and paid time off for vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Additional perks include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement.
We are also proud to offer Live Better U, a company-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates, with tuition, books, and fees completely covered by Walmart.
Walmart and its subsidiaries are committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and have a no-tolerance policy regarding the use of illegal drugs and alcohol on the job. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer by choice. We believe we are best equipped to help our associates, customers, and the communities we serve live better when we really know them. That means understanding, respecting, and valuing diversity while being inclusive of all people.
