The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a dynamic health system dedicated to advancing patient care, research, and education. Within the Corporate Health System Finance cost center, the Strategic Financial Planning group serves as a critical partner to executive leadership and governing bodies. The team translates complex strategic priorities into detailed financial models, projections, and decision-support materials that drive the long-range vision of the health system.
As the Director of Strategic Financial Planning, you will serve as a senior technical and analytical leader, supporting the Executive Director in managing the health system's long-range financial plans, debt capacity models, capital planning, and strategic initiatives. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on synthesizing large volumes of data into actionable insights and communicating complex financial narratives to non-financial audiences.
You will partner closely with system finance, treasury, tax, strategy, facilities, and market leadership to ensure financial plans are analytically sound and responsive to changing market conditions. Your day-to-day involves leading the development of multi-year financial projections, overseeing the financial feasibility of major capital projects, and serving as a financial lead on strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. Beyond the numbers, you will provide technical leadership and mentoring to financial analysts, establishing modeling standards and identifying opportunities to improve planning processes and automation.
If you enjoy working with energetic, enthusiastic individuals and are passionate about the intersection of healthcare strategy and financial rigor, you will find a rewarding career here.
All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will receive consideration for employment based upon applicable qualifications, merit, and business need. The selection process focuses on identifying candidates who demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
