As a Business Controls Manager, you will work directly with the City National Bank's Business Control Officer and Senior Business Control Manager for Consumer Banking and Lending Operations. You will partner with the Risk Framework leadership team to support issue identification, solution design, and implementation. This role is designed to balance challenges constructively, ensuring alignment between business objectives and CNB's risk appetite and established limits.

Day in the Life

In this role, you will serve as the critical liaison for business line risk management, compliance activities, legal engagement, and internal or external audits. You will analyze data affecting technical, operational, and business functions to provide insight into practical impacts on the business line.

Your day will involve executing essential risk program functions, including Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRI), Issue Management, and Operational Losses. You will contribute to building a robust risk culture and literacy within the first line of defense, designing and implementing preventive and detective controls for Consumer Banking and Lending Operations.

You will act as a representative for the Business Control Office at internal and external meetings, establishing strong working relationships with all stakeholders. This includes attending meetings with or in place of the SVP BCO, providing feedback, and escalating decisions as necessary. You will also coordinate risk-mitigating actions, providing status updates on open and closed issues to senior management and second-line risk functions.
