About the Role
As an Adjunct Instructor, you will serve as a vital link between academic instruction and student success. This position is designed for professionals with a strong background in International Business who are passionate about guiding students through their academic journey. Your primary focus is delivering high-quality instruction while ensuring a structured and supportive classroom environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the learning process, from daily attendance tracking to administering assessments. The role requires a balance of pedagogical expertise and administrative diligence, ensuring that all university policies and regulations are upheld. You will work closely with the Dean of Academic Affairs, Academic Advisors, or Program Directors to address student and classroom issues, fostering an atmosphere where students are motivated to succeed.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with arriving at the university 20 minutes prior to class to ensure full preparation. You will be available to students 15 minutes before the session starts to answer questions and provide advising. During class, you will conduct sessions according to the scheduled times, avoiding excessive breaks or early dismissals, while ensuring students adhere to university policies.
Beyond the classroom, you will maintain accurate and organized records, including daily attendance and weekly grades. You will be responsible for contacting absent students, reviewing pre- and post-testing results, and administering required surveys. At the end of each term, you will submit grades by the Monday 5 PM EST deadline and may be invited to attend graduation ceremonies. Additionally, you will engage in annual professional development plans to keep your subject matter knowledge current and effective.
