The Building Engineer serves as the hands-on leader responsible for the daily maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the school facility. This role ensures the building and grounds remain safe, clean, and fully functional to support students, faculty, and staff. You will oversee preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, vendor coordination, and compliance with all local and state regulations related to school facilities.
This position requires a visible presence within the school community, balancing technical expertise with a commitment to the educational environment. You will conduct daily walkthroughs, troubleshoot issues ranging from HVAC failures to minor electrical problems, and coordinate with contractors to ensure all work adheres to school policies and child safety requirements.
This role is based at 568 River Ave, Bronx, NY. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
